1. About these terms

This website is operated by Vandlet Investments Limited, a company registered in Uganda with offices at Haruna Towers, 5th Floor, Ntinda, Kampala, Uganda. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. Information on this site is not advice

The content published here — including articles in our Insights section — is general information about accounting, tax and financial management. It is not professional advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. Do not act on it without obtaining advice specific to your situation.

3. Professional engagements

No client relationship is created by browsing this site, submitting an enquiry form, or attending a free consultation. A professional relationship begins only when both parties sign a written engagement letter setting out the scope of work, the deliverables, the fees and the responsibilities of each side. Where an engagement letter conflicts with these terms, the engagement letter prevails.

4. Your responsibilities as a client

• Provide complete, accurate and timely records and information.
• Notify us promptly of anything that materially affects the work.
• Maintain your own copies of records supplied to us.
• Understand that responsibility for the accuracy of underlying records remains with you, and that our work is performed on the basis of the information you supply.

5. Fees

Fees are set out in the engagement letter. Unless agreed otherwise, invoices are payable within thirty days of issue. We may suspend work on an engagement where invoices remain unpaid beyond that period.

6. Confidentiality

We keep client information confidential and disclose it only with your instruction, where required by law or regulation, or where a professional obligation compels disclosure. See our Privacy Policy for detail on how information is handled.

7. Intellectual property

All content on this site — text, graphics, logos, the Vandlet name and mark, and the layout — is owned by Vandlet Investments Limited or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not republish, sell or systematically extract content without our written permission.

8. Third-party links and services

This site links to third-party sites and embeds third-party services such as maps. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

9. Availability and limitation of liability

We aim to keep this site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the fullest extent permitted by Ugandan law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from reliance on the general information published here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud.

Liability arising from professional services is governed by the engagement letter for that work.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

11. Changes

We may revise these terms at any time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.
